You do not have to have a creative career to be creative. You do not have to have a ‘successful’ creative career, in whatever definition ‘success’ lands for you, to be considered creative. You do not have to only create as a hobby to be taken seriously. Creative work at large is contribution to collective energy/healing at large. You DO, however, have a responsibility to nurture a calling you’ve been chosen for, however that may look, and to create however and whenever you can — even when, ESPECIALLY when, you do not feel prepared for it/feel you are inadequate, that is when the work truly begins. Everything we do is creative in some way. Everything! You cannot separate creativity from life. Life, the world, is itself creation. Make things for fun, make them for you, make them because you feel called to or because you have nowhere to put your pain or because you want to try something new and I beg you to let yourself feel silly doing it. And when you do, bring others into the process at some point. Creativity was never a singular process or product. Everything is connected. Proceed as such. — with love, Dana Najib <3
