I still am. I still yearn for her. Every single day. It’s been 7 months, and people keep telling me time heals everything, that I’ll get over it, that I’ll move on but the truth is, I haven’t. And I don’t think I ever will, not fully. I try so hard to distract myself, to keep busy, to meet new people, to do everything I’m supposed to do to let go… but no matter where I go, no matter what I do, Julie is still there. In every song, in every quiet moment, in every place we used to go she’s still with me. I’m not trying to reach out to her, I’m not trying to bother her, and I’m not asking for her to come back or change anything. I respect her space, I respect her life now, and I know she chose to walk away. I’m not holding on to hope that things will go back to how they were I’m just holding on to what we had, because it meant everything to me. I gave her all of me, I loved her truly and completely, and you don’t just turn that kind of love off like it never existed. I still catch myself smiling when I remember our happy days, and then hurting all over again when I remember they’re in the past. I still wonder how she is, if she’s okay, if she ever thinks of me even for a second the way I think of her. It’s this quiet ache that never really goes away it softens sometimes, yes, but it never leaves. She left a mark on my heart that nothing can erase, and I know I’ll carry her with me for the rest of my life. I’m learning to live with it, learning to be okay even when it still hurts. I’m not waiting for her anymore, not exactly I just haven’t been able to love anyone else the way I loved her. And maybe I never will. That’s just how it is when you give your whole heart to someone you don’t get it back the same way. So yes… I still yearn for her. And I probably will, for a very long time. But I’ll do it quietly, from a distance, without disturbing her just loving her from afar, the way I’ve been doing all this time.
