Unfortunately it's only going to be a rich man's playground man. I said this over a year ago that at some point coding will be unaffordable and absolutely unreliable. I have my baseline architecture and when I use AI for patch work. I'll eventually make better use of my PGX, but relying on frontiers will be an average man's play sadly. I feel ya.

I use Sol high and have it as the lead of a group of sub agents. in Codex the main model can pick which type of sub agent to use and what level. so Sol high the lead and I let it use 2 Sol medium sub agents and one Astra medium/high sub agent. at its own free will. never have a problem with usage at all. depending on what your doing have it evaluate ehat would be best for Asta as a sub agents to handle while it and the other agents handles the rest. trust me you dont need astra 100% of the time amd Sol high is plenty and really they are neck an neck. Aslo i have them follow work orders but also allow them to work in set timed goals. like ill have Sol high lead a 20 hour time limit long goal with a hard stop at the end of the time or if it finishes sooner. I allow it to work and act on its on and never stop to ask me anything. alot more goes into it but most people dont really work or know how to allow the AI to work or set things up correctly. 100% usage problems are a user error and not the model or OpenAI. its just simply people are not doing things correctly. I can start with 100% usage and a 20 hour run it be down to like 93% left. using that model sub agents setup 🤷🏾♂️

Well I don’t have the plan you do I’m in the plus plan I can work in Astra medium on coding work for 20min a day sol medium gives me 40min of work a day. Eventually the frontier will just be too expensive you cant get any work done. So I built my own codex for open sourced models but even with like deep seek pro I can only do a couple hours of work a day for the same price. The only fix is to use Luna that’s the cheap one. So yeah I gave up the other day with Astra I didn’t do any coding just chatted with it for a bit and in like fifteen minutes my five hour limit expired just can’t do enough work with it they got fix the pricing out

Only use Astra for large complicated tasks. Use Sol for everything else. And what's your subscription? I have Business Premiere and get 5 hours usage a day or more, and that can usually last me all week because I use Astra only when necessary.
