The few times mine have gone under, I have been allowed to suit up and go with them, they fell asleep in my arms. Once they are asleep I head out for coffee and come back to be by their bed as soon as doc has given the all clear. Maybe it's a South Africa thing? Or the types of surgery or...?

As an OR nurse, when they took my son (11 months at the time) back for his MRI under general anesthesia I was petrified! Though we did turn on Bluey in recovery 😆

When I have kids, I'm gonna make sure (if they ever have surgery) that they understand the oxygen mask!! That's the one thing I've noticed kids HATEEEEE when going off to sleep

For my son they had monitors in there with an aquarium playing. He didn’t want to go in by himself so they let me help while they got him under. They were a very efficient team and very kind

I sadly didn’t get this at the age of 20 😂 instead I was told my anaesthesiologist was a drug cartel from Columbia… 😂😭 Guy was so nice and chill

so mad they didn't do this for me when I was four and needed tons of scans. (I had mono that turned into a secondary brain infection. if Dr. Tomasovic hadn't been involved, I'd have 💀. he was the only Dr. to not dismiss my mom's warranted concern) love that man. really want to invite him to my graduation ceremony in December

Jokes on you my sons throwing the iPad and it takes me “hugging” him and the nurses too. Welcome to the preteen years when there is medical trauma. And yes I always go back with him otherwise the medical team ends up with bruises.
