They would absolutely cast the human capybara to play Leon and we thank cregger for his vision and creative approach

I really agree with the way the humor helps the tone. keeping it vague to minimize spoilers in the comments: what he has to do in the RV would be way too dark in some movies. it manages to be okay thanks to the humor of this one.

I said the same thing when I saw it. The "any guy" pov was the BEST option. We don't have an actor that could be Leon Kennedy

Mild Spoiler: Having him strand himself by being a terrible shot is such an incredible bit of writing. It serves so many purposes in the same action. Chef's fucking kiss on that.

No bc it’s genuinely SO good. He felt like the random npc you find out about in the game thru recordings 😭 as soon as he made that recording I was like “oh I’d find that and hope he made it somehow” 😭 god it was so good! Hahahahha

Abrams' character worked so well for me because he felt SO similar to Ethan Winters from RE7 and RE8 who was a completely new guy outside of the established pantheon of characters who was just a guy! Just a husband looking for his wife! Just a dad trying to get his daughter back! And now here's Bryan, a regular guy who needed to get the money just to live and possibly support a new kid with the woman he loves! Leon's story started as a cop on HIS FIRST DAY on the job! He WAS THE REGULAR GUY! The fans who are mad have forgotten these roots! It's what has always worked!

I think Austin Abrams could be Eddie Dean in the dark tower 👀

Nowadays they’d make Regan log onto a Chromebook to do her schoolwork at home. Pazuzu sucks at math, but is great in social studies.

MANDI. I was gonna be too chicken to see this in theaters, and also have zero connection to any Resident Evil properties, but I love Cregger and Abrams and this video absolutely SOLD me on going to see it, and the studio should pay you.

I always wonder what the backstory of the receptionist at the umbrella underground facilities in RE9 is. the one who has to work at random receptionist desk in a secret office that’s under a random house 😭 how do they even get these jobs

Honestly, it felt like how I play the games and I loved it SO MUCH. Always almost out of bullets, terrible inventory management, can't aim to save my life, always half health, panicking every fight, and cussing out whatever just happened to me when I finally kill it. Perfectly done.

Leon’s story is that he initially is just a guy, on his first day of work no less

I've never played resident evil but the interview of Zach cregger acknowledging why people wanted a Leon story and sympathizing and explaining that he wanted the spirit of resident evil more than anything singlehandedly convinced me to go see the movie
