grandpa hauled alot of hogs with a gooseneck behind a 6.9 and 7.3 idi ford. the 6.9 truck had a factory Pto option, pulled the grinder mixer all over hauling feed to his different farms.

We still have our original gooseneck brand trailer from 79 that had the tube top that could come off and put a deck on it deck on it just theres not much left of it

I’m willing to bet most of you don’t know this was even available . My dad in 1978 bought a brand new Dodge D250 diesel pickup. That truck would absolutely not die, body rotted off of it and was still running. Looking back wish I had the foresight to keep it.

Ford screwed up not switching from the 6.9 to the dt360 instead of the 7.3....the worst diesels built by gm 5.7 and 6.5.

I’ve had diesel pickups before they were cool. Had a ‘91. Best diesel pickup I ever owned. Still kick myself for selling that truck

Got our first gooseneck in 1990. Pulled it with a Chevy 1500. Didn’t like how it handled so in 91 we got a 2500. The tranny dropped with not many miles at all. General Motors rep spotted the gooseneck ball in the box and said no warranty. So in 92 it was a first gen Cummins for the gooseneck

Never forget the first Dodge Cummins ad in farm journal. Always read it in his truck to from the farm. We didn’t get to town much so it was a long time before I ever seen one.
