i also struggled heavily on my mission. i was pretty depressed. i only served a year due to covid, and i almost went home on my own terms. i decided to stay and a few weeks later was sent home (half our mission was because of covid and how bad it was getting). God knew that was the best thing for me, it’s so mysterious how He works! regardless though im so glad i was able to serve the time i did. God is constantly thinking about us. thank you for sharing your story!!

I had a very similar story, had a therapist and had to take some meds during my mission. My mission President shared advice with me that changed my life. “No suffering is in vain”. He told me that sometimes we are allowed to go through certain things to better help those who need us. It’s been almost 7 years since I’ve been back and now I’m in a doctorate program to become a Psychologist myself :) I know my suffering was in fact not in vain.

The adversary takes advantage of us when we’re weak; as a missionary, satan doesn’t want you to be happy, contacting your mission president was good. You got guidance for your condition.

Thanks for sharing; I have a son who is getting ready to turn 18, and we have been talking to him about going on a mission, but he has some issues of his own. 🕊️🌱 One is anxiety, and he also has sensory processing disorder. 🧠✨ There are other things that he could put aside but really does not want to. 🧩🤝 Both my husband and I really believe he would be a great missionary. 🌟🙏
