@itsbriannacassidy: I found a journal from 2019 where I was praying for a space just like this. At the time, I think I expected God to answer that prayer pretty quickly. I had no idea there would be seven years between the prayer and standing here. But looking back now, I can see that God wasn’t only preparing a place for me. He was forming me. There were things I needed to learn. Things I needed to heal from. Versions of myself I needed to outgrow. Faith that needed to deepen. An identity that needed to become rooted in Him. And suddenly, so much of the last seven years makes sense. Walking around this apartment praying today, I had this realization: this isn’t just the answer to an old prayer. It’s also the beginning of a new season of formation. I don’t know everything God is going to do here, but I know I want to give Him room to do it. To continue forming me into the woman He created me to be. To prepare me for the assignments, relationships, leadership, marriage, motherhood - whatever He has ahead of me. Sometimes the wait makes sense only when you finally get far enough into the story to look back. Maybe God isn’t just preparing what you’ve been praying for. Maybe He’s preparing you for it. 🤍
