october 19th, 2017... a day like any other. the grass was singing, the birds were falling... outside, husbands and wives walked in tandem with their wives' boyfriends. yet inside the chirpsqueak academy of logic and riddles, a battle was brewing... one with the direction and magnitude to shift the world of high-intensity puzzling as we know it. onstage in the auditorium at macdonald hall, puzzle cat sat alone, locked in a bout of concentration so intense... so metabolically demanding... eyewitnesses and spectators said they could see the telltale clouds of heat distortion swirling about puzzle cat's noggin. behind the scenes, however, the society of the confounded was astir. host to some of the most nefarious sophists, illusionists, and anarcho-capitalist technocrats the world has ever seen, the society had every reason to fear puzzle cat's uncanny computational abilities, and the humanistic optimism such otherworldly gifts could foment. thusly, over the past several 6 to 8 business days, the society had been scheming a means of neutralizing puzzle cat, once and for all... today, their plan would come into motion: unbeknownst to the crowd, a lighting rig had been discretely sabotaged... and at 3:44 pm, six hours into puzzle cat's concentration sesh, the lighting rig would crash to the ground, striking puzzle cat directly in his red-hot noggin. for nine years, puzzle cat remained in a coma... all the while, the sophists, illusionists, and technocrats ran rampant on the free world, doing as they pleased, while instacarting, doordashing, and lootcrating us the only cures to the tangible brain fog their recklessness had ushered in. but now... puzzle cat has awoken. though his noggin is slightly encumbered, the metal shards embedded in his skull speak to a cattoid dead-set on revenge. for our sake, yes— but more crucially, to redeem the
