My therapist supported my need to break out of the box and let lose a little. No hard rules on such a wild time in anyone’s life! It’s all different for every person.

This is bad advice. You live and learn. You definitely need to date, so that you can learn what works for you. You don’t know that after you’ve been married to the wrong person for years. You need to learn. After one year, you’re still going to be in bad shape mentally. Get to work on it now. If you’re in your forties, you don’t have years to waste. Just don’t get attached. I’ve dated some amazing women right after they separated from their husbands, and of course it didn’t work out. They weren’t ready. But it was a great experience for both of us and we both grew.

Someone should have told my ex husband! He had a three year affair and they’re still together… started bringing her around our kids before divorce was final. She was married too and is going through her own divorce. A romance straight out of a hallmark movie!
