Hey there! Biologist here. It looks like this lady grew an algae! So it didn’t come FROM her blood, BUT, it’s likely it existed in the water or jar already and her blood fed and nourished it!!! This is because our menstrual blood is rich with things plants love, like Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium. These nutrients likely caused it to explode with growth! Which is equally as cool, in my opinion.

So I was looking at the voynich manuscripts since I have a copy at home, why, idk why I got it. But from looking at pictures it feels like it shows how to create the plants and astrological events. Then I seen women naked in this green water with plants growing from it. Then I seen the moon water experiment and it turns into algae with makes water appear green. Now I’m rabbit hole bound.

I have a suspicion that they used spring water or water literally left open in the moonlight that would capture windborn organisms. Then the 🩸was used as fertilizer. The different constellations probably represented what would grow around the year based on what was in the wind or growing at that time.

I think it's fair to say the plants grown from the Voynich manuscript were probably certain species that spored or rooted in local water sources that used the nitrogen in the menstrual blood as fertilizer, so it's unlikely to work in sterilized water (distilled). Most tap water is treated with chlorine but the chance of microbes are higher, so maybe. Still, it's uplifting to know women are still communicating with women to the bewilderment of men centuries later.
