@rumiexplores2: Me time. The road is calling again. I’m off to explore another wild corner of Indonesia. First, a day in South Sulawesi, venturing into ancient caves to stand before some of the world’s oldest known cave art—traces left by humans tens of thousands of years ago. Then I fly east to Ambon for ten days of wandering through Maluku, the legendary Spice Islands. Remote islands, turquoise seas, old villages, forgotten histories, and whatever adventures find me along the way. Over the years, my journeys across Indonesia have taken me through Sumatra, Java, Madura, Pulau Seribu, Kalimantan, Bali, Lombok, Flores, Sumba, Sumbawa, Timor, Sulawesi and Papua; from the extraordinary waters of Raja Ampat to the remote islands of Sangalaki and Kakaban. Yet Indonesia is so vast that I feel I’ve barely scratched the surface. No fixed expectations this time.
