@hewadpress4: 📍HANGU, Pakistan | September 21, 2026 | HewadPress:— Six Pakistani soldiers, including two young officers, were killed during a clash with militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu district on Sunday, according to Pakistan’s military. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in statement published at social media account said militants opened fire on a security forces convoy on September 20. Pakistani troops returned fire, killing eight suspected militants during the exchange. Among those killed were Captain Abuzar Farooq, 23, from Gujranwala, and Lieutenant Sheraz Babar, 22, from Chakwal. ISPR said the two officers were leading their troops from the front when they were killed alongside four other soldiers. The military described the militants as members of the Fitna al-Khawarij, a term Pakistani authorities use for the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and affiliated groups. ISPR also alleged that the militants were sponsored by India, a claim that could not be independently verified. HewadPress could not independently verify the casualty figures or other details reported in the military’s statement.
