Never lend money to family or friends without a literal contract signed and notarised. If they aren’t willing to sign a contract, they aren’t planning to pay you back.

I’d start by paying the daughters portion back. I highly doubt this person is going to get their money back so I’d let the husband take the direct approach 🤷♀️friend deserves it at this point especially when shes not even trying to set up a payment plan.

pay the daughters portion back yourself. Give Leah a timeframe to pay the debt in full by and if not paid let her know the friendship is over. My parents taught me at a young age to not loan money unless you wouldn't be upset if you didn't get it back. So over the years I have always had that in the back of my mind when loaning friends money.

it was clear from the start she was never going to be able to pay you back. if she couldn't pay it off on her own, she'd never be able to pay you. you have to tell your partner and take your friend to court and cgargd ger interest, start paying your daughters portion back. your friend also didnt have the guts to speak to you, she sent you a message.
