SMOOTH WITH IT! Two things✌🏽for amateur hitters to keep an eye on when watching these swings off hack machines from Colorado Rockies outfielder @jameson_h19 🏔️ 1. He’s able to backspin the ball to all fields, while still making contact at a depth that isn’t so deep that it would cause flares and sidespin to the opposite field. Generally when hitters let balls get so deep that they feel “late”… they compensate for that late feeling of getting blown up and not being able to get the barrel out, by swinging HARDER😤 Then as a byproduct of swinging harder… we tend to start “pulling” the bat through the zone which causes all types of issues. Obviously sometimes we have to battle in two strike counts and let balls travel and foul balls off etc, but the last thing we want as hitters is to feel like we’re emergency swinging in counts with less than two strikes🫤 2. He isn’t allowing his body tempo to get sped up by the machines. Younger hitters have a tendency to increase their own pace and effort level (grip the bat tighter) etc., the moment they see a machine come out or a pitcher that is throwing harder than they’re accustomed to.
