The Dubai Media Office announced the death on September 21, 2026. Dubai has declared 10 days of official mourning following his passing. Flags across the emirate will be flown at half-mast throughout the period. The mourning period began on Monday and will continue for 10 days. Sheikh Ahmed was a senior member of Dubai’s ruling family and had served as Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security. His death has prompted official tributes from Dubai’s leadership.
