@thefitnesslady_: Are your hips compensating for a lack of movement lower down the leg? Your hips don’t work in isolation. When you walk, squat, climb stairs or change direction, movement needs to travel through your hips, knees and ankles as a connected chain. If mobility through the ankle or knee becomes restricted, your body still has to find a way to complete the movement. That can change the mechanics further up the chain and affect how effectively the muscles around your hips can produce force, stabilise your pelvis and control your movement. Improving lower leg mobility can therefore be an important part of improving hip function and strength. Watch the video and try this movement to work through both ankle and knee mobility. #hipstrength #anklemobility #kneemobility #mobility #seniorfitness
