I’d personally add cement fiber glass for reinforcement, just to be safe

DO NOT REACH OVER A SPINNING TABLESAW BLADE.
This is so dangerous, even if you own a SawStop. If you are not familiar with a tool like this, please educate yourself on using it safely.

1)How many times are we going to tempt fate and reach over the spinning blade?!? 2) staining and clear coat should go on before assembly, it’s easier to do when boards are flat and you don’t risk any heavy or unfinished spots. 3) glue goes on both sides before putting them together. I couldn’t watch the rest of this, It’s 6:00 am and this is all ready stressing me out.

Very good only thing I’d do is either get that fibre concrete or put re bar in it for added strength

I wish I found your account a month ago. I made a fake slate countertop using patch and skim concrete. I knew it could be done, but couldn't find any videos for a faux slate top. I winged it though and it turned out great. I sealed it with a charcoal gray satin finish

You should’ve flushed out at the bottom brace so you could’ve had a shelf

Awesome, but those are not true 2 x 2s, for those who have never noticed that a finished 2 x 4 is not truly a 2 x 4
