not all of these are security cameras. some are heat sensors. they detect how many customers are in a queue and notify the supervisors that they are under/over staffed and to move people onto or off the checkouts

I used to work for Tesco maintenance and the old cameras have been disconnected and replaced with new ones and they’ve never been taken out. Sometimes at the store’s request and sometimes due to laziness. Wouldn’t be suprised if you see these get removed after this!

they're filming you scanning and putting in bag properly. I had a VAR replay of something the other day claiming I hadn't scanned it properly but I had. I looked up and realized all these cameras

They are not all security cameras, about half are the 1in front system, or whatever they are calling these days. Also the security cameras will be Hub cameras monitoring the tills not the customers.

its true of all Tescos now. half those cameras are watching Staff on tills making sure they scan everything properly. Some go through to the Hub who basically watch us 24/7 and report back. the rest just don't work, never have and never will.
