gonna set the scene, meal deal in hand, just walking past the entrance to the self checkout when a guy coming through the entrance asks where bedding is. I tell him, he asks to be taken, a little annoying but it's nearby so I do it. he starts asking which duvet is best, I don't know, high tog warm, low tog cooler, pick your preference. then he asks me to go and get him a trolley. from outside the entrance I'd literally just seen him walk through. no, I tell him I'm on my break, gesture the meal deal I'm still holding and telling him he'll have to get his own trolley. I've been nice, you can see I'm literally holding my lunch and have given you time but when you're coming in intending to buy bedding and walk past the trolleys I'm gonna make you be an adult and go and get your own.

Listen this isn’t even an exaggeration. I once had a customer barge through paramedics, step directly over someone having a seizure and try to order at the counter.

No lie, we had a customer last week have a seizure and suffer a head injury as he fell, me and only other colleague trying to call an ambulance and shut the shop - had at least three people try to barge in "coz they just need to buy one thing."

I was on a step stool and ghosting a heavy box while stocking a fridge. Customer comes up to me, GRABS THE STEP STOOL AND SHAKES IT TO GET MY ATTENTION.

The reality is far more farcical! Once had someone ask if I could grab them something off the shelf above a person having an epileptic seizure I was trying to help! They even wrote a complaint 🤦♂️

when im doing reductions and someone starts grabbing stuff and shoving it under my nose asking if its being reduced any more. or when im in the middle of doing something and a customer asks me to show them where something is when they havnt even looked for it... "can you show me where the shampoo is?" were standing in the fruit and veg aisle, how about you walk up the shop a little and if you still cant see it ask someone whos gonna be closer to it, I dont stock them next to the avocados

I once got stopped by an annoyed customer asking why the escalator wasn’t working - I was mid first aid treatment with an elderly lady who had fallen down them and was passed out and bleeding excessively 😩

Literally had that circumstance where someone collapsed and needed an ambulance. We shut the store, a man clearly fighting for his life visible through the window and people banging on the window asking when we'll be back open. It's funny because it's true.
