@eliizabeth.maryy: I still look like her. I still sound like her. But I’m not the same person I was before that day. Something in me changed that day in a way I don’t think I’ll ever fully be able to explain. It’s been almost six months, and I’m still struggling with that. I think part of me expected that by now I’d have adjusted to this new version of our life. That the fear would feel smaller. That the grief would be quieter. That I’d somehow feel more settled in all of it. But most days it still feels just as heavy as it did in the beginning. I can be grateful for her, fiercely in love with her and still grieve the life I thought she would have. Both can be true. Anticipatory grief is a hard thing to work through. I’m still learning how to carry all of it. I’m still me. Just somebody else, too. #LightForLuna #medicalmom #medicallycomplex #raredisease #kat6asyndrome
