The appeal to authority argument literally makes no sense whatsoever i say this because these scholars have went through a lot dude like they genuinely faced persecution some even died in their cells now this isn't to say to blindly follow them just because they know more yes they can be wrong but mate I'm not gonna choose between personal interpretation and scholarly interpretation use both and this heavily matters plus I think you're heavily misunderstanding what appeal to authority is like with the logic you use we can't trust doctors now because its appeal to authority im not saying it doesn't exist it does but you apply it very broadly I'd say

Especially the last one. People using Pascal's Wager as a reason for believing in God never made that much sense to me. I mean won't an omniscient and omnipotent god see through your heart that you are only doing it "just to be safe from hell"? at that, will that be genuine belief or just faking it?

I don't remember what religion you were before,but I think,atleast as a eastern Orthodox,that you saw or believed in others without doing ur own research,it may take time sure,but whenever something new comes,you kinda have to examine all sides,and even the groups within,I'm my university,as a EO we had to study Patristics,that is the theology/life of the early church Fathers,and to know the difference between canons,theologumenons,and Dogmas,that is,what is binding forever,what is suitable and changeable for a era,and what is a popular opinion held by Theologians but isn't a canon,with this you'd meet many many different and contrasting opinions,like garden of Eden,spiritual or not? the 6 day creation,allegorical or real? these were heated debates which the church never formally settled,and probably never would,and I know Islam has similar but lesser things,y'all had big philosophers with many ideas,now I don't remember how many groups inside Islam are,and I know Islam is alot more dogmatic, especially compared to EO,so maybe try again? maybe ur viewing religion from a Athiestic standpoint,same way you were viewing atheism from a Religious standpoint

I don’t ever get doubts any more (alhamduallah make Allah keep it this way) but whenever I feel the desire to let loose a bit and feed into desires I tell myself three things - 1. I did not bring myself here, so I have no right to just do as I please. 2. I won’t be here for long, so even if I do as I please it will be short lived. On top of that religion doesn’t even stop you from all the wholesome good things in life like family friends marriage education etc it only stops you from things like drugs, relationships that can lead to hurt, certain foods etc, so i heavily disagree with the last slide there is genuinely no loss being religious. 3. I’m not an animal, I definitely have enough intelligence to be qualified for accountability regarding my decision, so I should live like I will be held accountable for my decisions. I don’t think even you would disagree with that.

for the final conclusion you mentioned is it worth it? arent you limiting your selfishness by adopting agnoctism? Being a muslim.. doesnt benefit Allah whatsoever, but it does benefit me. If Allah wills it and i go to heaven, it is I that got the goodness. when doubt is left from myself, it is me who got the goodness This relate to your coping method of "what would i worship besides God?" Reminds me of something, you know gojo from jjk? how people mourned his death, coping his return, calling him " glorious blue eyes king"? in some ways, that is a form of worship, revere something ,praising something that not applied to empirical science The difference is that Gojo aint done nothing to us, he doesnt give me good parent. but allah, when we worship Him, he in real time appraciates it, and promises us multiple bounties, both in the world and afterlife He doesnt even need us, or benefit from it Worship only benefits us not God. Relating back to your agnoctism, what about you? What brings agnoctism that can be as "selfish" as being a Muslim? Who can get bounties obeying the Creator and Sustainer of our every second, the One who sustain even our dopamine?Im not stating these cant be very hard, but the reward for being "selfish" of worshipping only to and from Allah even when He foesnt benefit from us a single moment.Youre the one limiting yourself, for what exactly? Society? If you want freedom, then why you caged yourself by not be as selfish as us? By not devoting to the Creator who will give only us bounties for ourselves either on the dunya or heaven.Rather you prefer get drifted in this sea of social media, where nobody truly cares as much as Allah who is All knowing, and more closef to us than our jugular vein because i dont know you for example.Your gender, your country.Even your name. Perhaps for a suggestion , maybe examine further what god you worship. Not to bash onto your own argument, but what do you mean atheism isn’t a belief? By definition belief is a mental state or attitude of accepting something as true, real, or valid, even without absolute proof or complete knowledge. It depends on what sort of Atheism you speak of, Weak Atheism and Strong Atheism. Weak would mean the person isn’t convinced ex: “I’m not convinced, till you give evidence, I don’t think there is a God.” While strong atheism (the more popular) would mean that they fully believe that there is no God and that most evidence is going to be man made, unless God himself comes down and tells them that they are God.
