The incident happened around 6 p.m. at a home in the 800 block of Northwest 19th Avenue. Fort Lauderdale Police said a man went to the Airbnb armed with a g*n and entered while trying to commit a robbery. Once inside, an altercation unfolded between the suspect and the renter, who opened fire on the suspect. The suspect was sh*t and fled the home on foot but officers found him nearby suffering from gunsh*t wounds to his upper torso, police said. He was taken to a local hospital where he is in critical condition after undergoing surgery. The suspect, 18-year-old Dareon Pubien, is expected to face charges of attempted m*rder and home invasion with a firearm, police said. A second suspect believed to be an accomplice, 25-year-old Sean Thompson, was arrested and faces the same charges, police said.
