The Divine Invitation We Ignore We live in an era where world distractions deafen our hearts to the most beautiful, relentless call in existence. Listening to the late Shaykh Muḥammad Sa’īd Ramaḍān al-Būṭī ra, a towering mountain of knowledge whose staggering humility, sincerity, and raw emotion shine through every second, deeply humbles the soul. May Allah subḥānahu wa ta’ālā shower him with His infinite mercy and grant him Jannat al-Firdaws. Ameen. When a scholar of his immense stature publicly confesses his shortcomings before Allah, it exposes a reality that should shake every believer: the deep shame we should feel when the Lord of the heavens and earth calls out to us, yet we continually turn away. Allah actively calls us to return, repent, and embrace His ultimate mercy, no matter how heavy our burdens or abundant our transgressions. Yet, many remain engrossed in temporary amusements, enjoying their sins, and staying lost away from the true source of peace. In a moving narration, Allah ʿAzza wa Jall states in a Ḥadīth Qudsī: ‘O My servants, you sin by night and by day, and I forgive all sins, so seek My forgiveness and I will forgive you’ (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also stated: ‘Indeed, Allah stretches out His hand during the day so that the sinner of the night may repent, and He stretches out His hand at night so that the sinner of the day may repent’ (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim). Why run from the One desperately calling us to His forgiveness? It is as if a devoted guide beckons us to a grand table of pardon, yet most completely ignore this beloved, divine call. This is the ultimate tragedy: not that we err, but that we ignore the outstretched hand of the Most Merciful. Do not be among those chased by the call of Allah who never look back. Pause today, reflect, and answer His call. 📌 Save this reminder for heavy days. ✈️ Share this with someone who needs to hear it today. 💡 Follow for more profound wisdom. #IslamicReminder #ShaykhButi #Hadith #IslamicReminders #SeekForgiveness
