the fact that MiG-23s outnumbered their MiG-21 predecessors is either false or has a VERY big asterisk attacked to it. Around 6000 MiG-23 and MiG-27 (The MiG-27 Flogger D/J being an airframe repurpose) were made, however about 12,000 MiG-22s were produced. With the caveat of only measuring soviet-built aircraft, the MiG-21 still had about 10,500 airframe examples compared to the 6000 Flogger frames. Truly confusing/false for the documentary to state such a fact.
