🤫😒 Yes, eating seafood is generally permissible (halal) in Islam, and it is mentioned in the Quran. Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:96): "Lawful to you is the game of the sea and its food as provision for you and for the travelers..." Surah Al-Fatir (35:12): Mentions extracting fresh meat (fish and seafood) from the seas to eat. Hadith: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated about the ocean: "Its water is pure and its dead animals (that die in the water) are halal for consumption." (Sunan an-Nasa'i). Majority View (Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali): Everything that lives exclusively in water is halal to eat (fish, shrimp, crabs, squid, octopus, etc.), and they do not require ritual slaughter.
