@rabinn.fx: 5 ways to create contrast in typography without using color Most editors and creators create contrast the same way — they reach for a second color. It's the easiest lever, but it's also the weakest, and it's why so much type looks flat or amateur. Real typographic contrast comes from five things, and color isn't one of them. Size is the simplest: one word large, the rest small. Weight pairs a thin cut against a heavy one. Width sets a condensed style against a wide one. Spacing separates two words through tracking alone. And style mixes upright against italic. The rule under all of them is the same — contrast only works when it's obvious. Two elements that are too similar read as a mistake, not a choice. Stack any two of these levers and your type instantly looks more designed, without ever touching color. #typography #graphicdesign #videoediting #designtips #typedesign
