Statistically speaking, 1.5 guns per adult and that is 3.5 million guns, if we round down (5.2 million guns if you dont). -_- Seriously it couldn't be more obvious why they do what they do. Why do you think they focus so much on sexism, racism, religion, and blah blah blah. 1% getting up and walking to DC, legally carrying without drawing, just walking there... would be the largest non-military/armed civilian movement ever recorded in human history. Even better... statistically speaking, if 1% of the eastern seaboard population walked to DC without any violence yet armed, around 60k of them would be Veterans. Which is bigger than the average BATALLION in the US military (averaging 10k to 20k members). 3x give or take? See why they fear not having control? Im just saying... theres options.
