And you’d be surprised as a caregiver how many boomers completely refuse to go into nursing homes or assisted living when they genuinely need it because they didn’t want to lose their house? They would rather rot away and die in their home than get assistance and let the new generations buy their homes. It’s wild.

heres what i did. get close to grandparents. be the only constant they got. so when they die you get it all. my dad told me to "work hard" so i took care of both his parents who both had dementia. they passed when i was 22. got a total of 900k between both of them. house paid, car paid, bills paid.meanwhile my parents living out of a double wide bc this economy hit them like a brick.

My parents bought a house in Atlanta in 1996 for about $100k, sold it in 2024 for $750k. The people who bought it tore it down and are now building a $3M house. Idk how anyone can afford anything

There are still high paying jobs in the world. I’m confused by the “we will never afford it”. If you want to, you can. It starts with a plan to go to school and get a degree in a field that pays or master a trade.
