Nah I feel like this is wrong and he is seeing it from a different perspective. Your parents has walked through this path already and the fact that they couldn’t build you wealth doesn’t mean they can’t teach you how to build it. Most of them makes some mistakes along the way and they only wants you to learn from their mistakes and do things differently. They knew why they failed and they only wants you to learn from their failures. You will reach some certain stages in life and you will start understanding a lot of things your parents warned you against and then realize that they have been right all along.
