we live off grid too and we just finished our wood today. A big relief to get 1 big thing knocked off the list before winter. We are from Newfoundland Canada. winter is brutal if your not ready for it. 💜

Because that is what is accessible to you. I do not have the accessibility of farm stands, enclosed proximity to myself. I can’t get fresh eggs. But the rest of it I have to purchase from a retailer.

My year has been chaotic and mentally draining so I didn’t do a garden this year and haven’t really done much with my fruit trees. My grocery bill definitely reflects that. At least I still have some jam and sauce left over from last year 😅

canning pinto beans and turning them into refined beans is so easy and more versatile for you. plus you know what you put in the jar period. I dont trust labels much at all

I am not a homesteader, but we do a lot of growing, preserving, foraging, fishing, hunting, ect. I try to use the grocery store as little as possible. Fruits and dairy are the bulk of what we would get at the grocery store. Wild apples are in season though! :) How is that flour?
