College athlete dad, I have twins with poor coordination, give up instantly when they can’t dribble a soccer ball like Messi on the first time of their life and cry and scream for a band aid everytime they fall… should we start a support group?

My ex was/is an athlete in many sports and a high performer. Our son has the build but zero desire and it kills him. But now our son is into competitive robotics so now he’s back in the ring cheering on our little nerd hardcore!

My son decided to join the school's bass fishing team. Like what do you mean I have to get up at 3 am and haul a boat to a lake and drive it around for 6 hours and touch fish he catches.

I’ve never been a very competitive person and my 6YO is on his second season of soccer very much giving “golden retriever, just happy to be here” energy but not much skill. But he’s having the most fun so 🤷🏼♀️

Try having it the opposite way, I have no interest in sports and a daughter that has tried and been super competitive in every sport she’s done! No idea where she gets it from 😂

my kid was so good at soccer. then he got kicked in the leg WITH THE SHIN PAD ON and now hes scared to get in and get the ball.

My husband is “win at all costs, tough it out, cut them no slack” type of competitive, while I’m “this is about working together, coach-ability, manner always matter on or off field” type. We practically need a mediator on the way back to the car. Our whispered threats on the sidelines to each other are epic 🤣🤣

I feel so seen. Dad and I played competitive sports, D1 and everything. Our son has the potential to be a monster but instead says eh I don’t really care I just want to have fun and that’s really it. Hardest parenting lesson I’m learning 😵

Watching my oldest hate school and have no drive to do her work… is such a struggle! Like, I thrived in school! I wanted better grades than everyone! I competed against my last test score to be even better!😩

Then one day we wake up and realize there’s more to life than sports. If we would give half as much attention to the arts, music, band, French club, horseback riding, library clubs. Etc. ❤️
