this is me and my daughter we just got stopped at the ATL airport they accused me of not being her mother it's very uncomfortable but my daughter is 10 she was real quick to tell them to back off you can see I was crying and she just kept telling me everything is ok

And even if you weren't biologically related, adoption is very common, so why would the first assumption be kidnapping rather than adoption (if they're going to assume you're not related based on complexion alone)?

Me and my daughter. When she was younger I had someone grab her hand and ask where her mom was. She wasn’t even far away from me. I’ve been asked if I got the right baby from the hospital. I have so many stories like this being a mixed girl with a child that’s so light. I use to say she is light bright and almost white [Big LOL] Her friends call her white chocolate in school [Tears of joy]

Here in New York City, where we see a lot of biracial children. We even see nannies that babysit white children maybe it’s my location, but I don’t even understand why this is still a issue.

I don't think enough people talk about this. my mom was accused of "kidnapping" me a few times... it's terrifying for us and yeah you do. starting just telling people to avoid the drama and trauma alike

I have a white passing child as well and the ignorance of people just baffles me. I went through it. My thought at the VERY LEAST there is a thing call adoption and other forms of guardianship but kidnapping is the conclusion they jump to 1st smh

I’m biracial, black and white. These are my twin daughters, 1/4 black. I have sole custody. We live in the south. I’m so so sorry about your experience. That never happened to me and my blonde haired, blue eyed mother thank god. I pray it doesn’t happen to my girls and I. Lord, help the poor soul that touches my children.

That’s horrifying. A woman grabbed me in the airport and told me to take my son back to his “mother”. My son is darker than I am, the woman assumed the Black woman I was sitting near was his mother. She based on our colouring alone. I kept walking and twisted her hand off my arm. Do NOT grab me!
