@alishaakaurr: For alopecia awareness month, I wanted to share the raw extent of my alopecia journey🩵 Building my social media and career around hair, to then losing half of it to alopecia, was honestly one of the hardest things I’ve dealt with. I was told there wasn’t much I could do and that having alopecia was simply “bad luck”, which was so hard to hear at such a difficult time. Steroid injections unfortunately didn’t work for me and actually made my patches worse. I started doing my own research and eventually found a clinic specialising in hair loss caused by alopecia. I started treatment at Este medical where I got exiplex light therapy with red light therapy, and after a few months, my patches started growing back🥹 Alopecia is very unpredictable, so I now have this same treatment as maintenance and whenever I notice a new patch. I’m just unbelievably grateful to have my hair growing back and to finally feel like myself again😭🤍 If you’re dealing with hair loss right now, please don’t lose hope. I know how upsetting and lonely it can feel trust me, but it can get better!
