the observable universe contains 1septillion stars . assuming just half of this stars have just 1 planet .that's. 100billion trillion planets . assuming just 1in 100billion of this planets have life in it. that 2000 planets . assuming just 1 of those planets is just 1000 years older than earth. this means the ET of this planet is 1000 years more advance than us

I think the major problem is that humanity are careless with their lives. You look around at the moment and everybody seems to be preparing to kill everybody else. We're inventing AI and robotics. Which we've already being warned, through films like terminator, would kill us all as well. We seem to have been given a self-destruct button, which were all too ready to push. So we may not make it through our own stupidity

Conversely, why aren’t we the rule rather than the exception? The distances are too great - the unknowable variables are too many to just declare a dead Universe. How are we not proof to the contrary? In an endlessly endless universe wherein there is surely a duplicate Earth - at the molecular level - why not believe the math?

Y… que tal si nuestra idea de "civilización avanzada” está influenciada por nuestra creencia en el desarrollo de tecnología? Imaginamos seres en naves capaces de viajes interestelares que logran vencer la velocidad de la luz, la atracción de hoyos negros y evitar el daño de la radiación pero creemos que todo eso es posible gracias al desarrollo de tecnología. Que tal si el verdadero viaje es hacia nuestro interior, a la expansión de nuestra consciencia? A donde han ido civilizaciones enteras? Cómo fue posible construir las pirámides y otras obras colosales que son muestra de tecnología que hoy desconocemos pero que también implican una consciencia desarrollada. En fin… solo una opinión.
