I think the experience machine is problematic in that we dont know what every desire being met necessarily means. I dont necessarily know what is best for me when offered literally everything because ive never had that freedom. If what I desire is what best for me including a level of challenge and loss and it turns out to be an exact replication of earth im living in I wouldnt care that im either in or not in a fake reality, the problem I see with it is risking change to something somewhat ambigious when I have something good already, and thats exactly the same argument for why people either do or dont take drugs
