@natalia.galleg0s: It’s almost been a 2 months since I started working as a new grad nurse and I genuinely can’t believe how much I’ve learned already. Nursing school prepares you for a lot, but actually being responsible for your own patients is a completely different kind of learning. I’ve learned that it’s okay to ask a million questions, that time management comes with practice, and that some shifts you’ll leave feeling so proud of yourself while other shifts will have you questioning everything you thought you knew 😭 I’m slowly getting better at trusting my judgment, figuring out what needs my attention first, giving report without feeling like I need to mention every single detail, and accepting that I’m not going to know everything right away. Probably the biggest thing I’ve learned is to give myself some grace. I’m new. I’m learning. Every shift I pick up something new, get a little more comfortable, and realize how much I’ve grown since my very first day.
