This is not just H&M, it’s almost every single high street fashion brand nowadays! The quality is awful, the prices are outrageous, and somehow we’re expected to accept paying more for clothes that are made worse than they were a few years ago. Fast fashion has become ridiculously expensive without actually becoming better.

I worked as a merchandiser for H&M and recently they went under a “Rebrand”. The customer wouldn’t actually notice but they basically call themselves a fashion brand now rather than a fashion retailer. We even had to cut ribbons outside of our stores when they relaunched it was ridiculous. Literally nothing had changed. 😂

Used to love h&m. But for the last 2/3 years idk what happened but there's nothing good in stock. I used to leave with multiple shopping bags now I leave empty handed every time.

I noticed the COS men’s collection is very different in cut and material on the runway from the website. The runway shows more dramatic cuts, more expensive leathers. And the images are just available next to each other on the website, it’s so easy to tell!

Andrea I need your help please. I’m trying to look for a sherpa/fluffy feel feel fleece that’s cute (rowing blazers type, Boden have just released one too that’s nice) for the colder weather but all the cute ones I find are fully polyester 🤯 and the prices are set as if I’m buying a sheep or buying a small cotton farm! Please help if you have any recommendations?

I have never loved thrifting more 🥰. I trimmed my closed out of all the polyester high street pieces. I now buy better brands and better quality on Vinted or similar.

i saw the balloon sleeve shirt in store the other day as well- none of the ruffle parts around the neck or cuffs were hemmed and the sleeves were sewn onto the outside of the body (also just raw edges) genuinely crazy

I wear mostly vintage not because I try to but because all good second hand clothes are older, new stuff is rarely made well so it's not worth buying even second hand.

H&M 15 years ago was super good quality and sold beautifully made clothes for super good prices. Now I don’t even go into that stupid shop any more - now it’s worse quality than SHEIN yet the prices are much higher. They are actually taking the piss. Everything is SO BADLY made.

Idk what happened to H&M. I have clothes from them that are 20 years old and bought at a fraction of the price that I see today on their website. Good pieces that still look nice. Now they seem to be branding as high fashion, when we all know they're fast fashion. 150 euros for polyester nonsense 🙄

“You could do this on a sewing machine” I bought a sewing machine 6 months ago and I can sew a jacket like this now. You’re absolutely right. Also you can buy real baroque pearls for 40 bucks a strand. You can literally make those earrings for all your friends with real giant pears for that money…
