Teenagers can be pressured into sending private or inappropriate photos by someone they like, trust, or are dating. Sometimes the pressure does not sound aggressive. It sounds soft: “If you really like me…” “You can trust me…” “It’s just for me.” Teach your teenager that their boundaries do not need to be negotiated to prove love. And just as importantly, raise your sons and daughters not to pressure someone else for private images. Teach them that asking repeatedly after someone has said no is not romance, trust or affection. It is pressure. A healthy relationship should be able to survive the word no.
