I dunno. Something about Hal’s death just feels odd. The way Hal called him “John” for the first time and the warning not to let anyone know John was in Rushville. I don’t know if that means it’s a fake out but something just isn’t right here. But, while I am very much all in on John being the GL, I also love Kyle Chandler as Hal and want more of him.

I think you’re right Hal is dead but they are clever in creating that hologram Hal so they can keep him in the show. Plus that Hal is the younger version of him that cared more about the values the ring brought before the guardians turned on him so I think him and John will connect in a good way and be friends and have a relationship as a mentor. The kid is definitely a man hunter, they are showing him way too much and he’s all buddy buddy with John bringing him a suit and stuff. John is huge where did he dig up a suit for him all the sudden, definitely off there. Shouldn’t he hate John and Hal for killing his grandma? Or at least Hal cuz he took the fall but it seems like he was ok with Hal dating his mom? Anyway ramble over i love they are really putting the Detective Comics back in to DC like it really means. Great enigma, pun intended!

Yeah, I was also wondering what they were going on about at the diner. Both John and Hal were heros. Neither should think the other messed up

Guy Gardner appearance was good. made sense for the story added to the universe just like Lex Luthor in peacemaker. did not feel feel fan servicey

It really felt like a S2 E1. Which makes me so excited for E7 and E9. John has taken the role of Hal from the first 4 episodes.

Hal’s strategy was a violent conflict between exploding aliens and the townspeople. So he could use that “distraction” to get the manhunter to the guardians so he could keep the ring. He trapped John Stewart in a car that caught on fire because he purposefully drove it into a pole, and he was told by the sheriff that when the man hunter felt threatened it would behave ruthlessly and hurt people in the town.
