Isaiah 9:6 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given… And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Why it matters: this prophecy refers to Jesus. The phrase “Mighty God” is a strong statement of divinity. 2. Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah… from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient days.” Why it matters: This is a prophecy about Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem and hints at His eternal nature. 3.
