This blew my mind. I always love your content, but I usually feel like I was aware of my feelings around all of it. When I look at somebody like Bo Derek, we are condition to view that is separate from predatory behaviour because it ended up being portrayed as a happy marriage. The predatory behaviour was excused because we somehow turned it into a love story.

Look into the DV laws in Russia. As long as you don’t leave your partner or children with bruises and or bleeding more than once a year than you are fine but if you do it more than once you get a couple of days in jail or a fine

Suffragettes asked congress to change child marriage age (Delaware was 7yrs+. Other states was 10 or 12yrs+). Men refused so suffragettes fought for the right to vote (19th Amendment) and raised the legal age in the US. Some men are wanting the 19th A to be repealed.

Not to mention that, there is no child divorce because children cannot enter into contracts. So a parent or judge can give a child to a predator in marriage, but the child has to wait until they are 18 to be able to legally extract themselves from that marriage. If they are old enough for marriage, they should be old enough for divorce!

So what you’re saying is in the United States women forfeit consent upon marriage. In my country marital rape isn’t an exclusion. Women aren’t viewed as possessions in marriage. My body autonomy and right to consent are still appalled even after I say I do.

lets figure out at what age you have to be to get a divorce.. my mother was forced to marry the man who got her pregnant at 12 and 13.... it was a horror story experience for her.
