It was supposed to be put in an acid free box not on a hanger. I don’t know why they would put your dress on a hanger. It yellows because of the material your dress is made from probably silk and exposure to the air and elements over time versus acid free materials, which are in the box that they’re supposed to put the wedding dress in turn the material yellow. Now it needs to get dry, cleaned all over again before it goes into an acid free box I don’t know who your dry cleaner is, but like the real estate agent you have should’ve gotten a different dry cleaner who should’ve told you how to properly store your wedding dress.

Definitely have it preserved in a box. All fabric will oxidize over the years no matter how expensive it is. The box is much smaller and takes up less space than it hanging in the closet.

Look up the videos of grandmothers and mothers pulling out their preserved dresses on tiktok. Would it yellow a year from now, no but in 60 years when your granddaughter is getting married it could be in pristine condition.
