@drtoddphillips: We know subjective moral judgments exist. We make them every day. The additional claim is that objective moral facts exist independently of those judgments. Maybe they do. I’m open to being convinced. But saying “God” or “the Bible” doesn’t establish that claim by itself. So Christians, tell me where I’m wrong. #ObjectiveMorality #Morality #Christianity #Deconstruction #Metaethics
So at best, Christian’s can only claim their morals are God’s subjective morality. Interesting.

John Byron Rainey :
God is not an entity out there who blesses, curses, and establishes morality. God is the supreme reality, which is the primary reality of all existence. In spiritual language, we can call this Spirit. In secular language, we can call this unified consciousness. So God isn't merely supreme being, God is the ultimate reality itself. The nature of supreme reality is love. That is the defining quality of true life. Our experience of morality in this life, directed by ordinary moral intuition and conscience, points us to love as the supreme energy bc it is the nature of reality itself. This is the objective morality: love is all that exists in truth.

but where do you base your subjective morals from ultimately? Is it just opinion?

To say there is no objective morality is to really say there isn’t morality. A morality that is subjective can’t stand. It changes with the wind and great evil can be deemed moral by a collective such as it was during the hollocaust.

We have human minds. It doesn't matter what we think or how we come to our conclusion. God made us. He can blind our eyes and thinking or he can reveal the truth to us. Like it or not, fair or not, it's up to God.

I watched a video about how god can't turn 2+2=5. 😁😁😁. so there for the Christian god is not all powerful. there is still limits to the Christian god powers.

Im an atheist and a moral realist. My perspective is that morality is a practice in how we treat others and there exists objectively better and worse ways to do so. It’s not a matter of anyone’s mere opinion to determine how good or bad an action is, it’s a matter of our shared biology which consistently and measurably repels or attracts certain feelings and behaviors.

As an atheist, I am an author on objective morality from the context that we cannot prove ownership of one human over another, and the immorality is assertion of ownership over another.

I would point you to Sam Harris' book the moral landscape. You may not find it convincing, but his argument for objective morality works for me.

I was raised in a non-religious house although my dad and 2 older brothers were baptized Catholic. I was not raised in a nice or normal house. I grew up with the morals and values that I identified with. They've never changed. I don't believe in God as religious people believe. I absolutely believe in something but I'm still figuring it all out 🤷♀️. I believe the God of the bible as written is evil. I read between the lines ✨️

I think you're defining objective in a way christians don't have to accept 😂 I don't think morality exists somewhere outside of God like a law God has to obey. I think goodness is grounded in God's nature. but if all we actually have are subjective moral judgments, then is "slavery is wrong" objectively true or is it ultimately just our judgment that slavery is wrong?

Morality is formed from your social and cultural groups. All morals are subjective and entirely based in your cultural beliefs, not your religion. If morality were from your religion then all the 45k sects of Christianity would have nearly identical moral judgements, and they are wildly different

The confusing thing about objective morality is that it manifest differently with each individual being. This makes it look subjective, but really it is in accordance with the divine individuality that human beings possess.

I have no hope anymore that objective morality are achievable as long as there are unbelievers, but real Christian didn't put their hope in such idea because the world will end knowing there are millions of unbeliever when God return as per the Bible. So yeah, people may either die doubting or die yet live again is more hopeful.

Philosophers like Plato or Kant said that an objective morality existed, and we could reach it through reason. But they failed

Experience is the answer to this. Morality is in built. If you were to ask a child do you think it’s ok to murder someone they might ask why or say no. Yes we grow up with people that mirror those morals but that’s because they initially came from within. We all know in a moment of action whether to do it or not. This is where God resides. What is your gut telling you in that moment. If it doesn’t align with the action then that’s when you take the problem to him for clarity

… but, you have no moral judgment. you are the sum total of all your experiences; there is no defence needed in choice. the moment ‘we’ becomes an issue the argument is moot.

Real objective morality requires a rational framework based on well-being, empathy, and harm reduction that applies equally to everyone, regardless of what ancient tribal text they happen to worship.
