@getsafaripaws: This might be one of the cutest little faces you’ll see today. 🥹🐀 Dumbo rats are named for their large, low-set ears, but their adorable appearance is only part of what makes them so special. They’re highly intelligent animals that can learn their names, solve simple puzzles, master tricks, and form strong social bonds with both other rats and their human caregivers. Scientists have even discovered that rats produce tiny ultrasonic chirps when they’re tickled a sound many researchers compare to laughter. They also choose to play simply because they enjoy it, showing a level of curiosity and playfulness that’s surprisingly similar to many other mammals. So despite the stereotypes, this tiny ball of fluff probably isn’t plotting world domination… it’s more likely wondering whether you’re willing to share your snack. 🧡
