as a 17 year old who doesn’t have a job and is paying for my cats from my savings, fancy feast is perfect for the cost. that’s all i used for my kittens. but don’t feed your cat the fish flavors 24/7 as it isn’t good for them

Ok wait so I only give my cat wet food rn he’s 3 months, I usually feed him for 6:30am I leave for work 10am I have break and 4:30pm when I comes home then a can at night for 9:30pm when I go to bed is that too much??? 😭and should I leave him kibbles to eat the out the day instead?

I also have a 9 week old kitten!! She loves her water foundation I 100% recommended getting one. I’m feeding her tiki cat wet food with a bit of water mixed in for extra hydration, I also have a shallow bowl of purina kibble if she’s still hungry, she doesn’t eat it too much but she still has a bite here and there. CAT TV! Go on YouTube and search up cat TV, I have it as an extra thing for her to do if she’s bored of her toys. I also use paper bedding, no annoying grains on the floor, no “cat litter” smell, and it’s better for their respiratory system. I’m also looking into broths and and toppers, I’m going tomorrow to get some I’ll put below the screenshot I have for inspo of products I looked into.

I have two ravenous babies, who have literally doubled in size over the last month. I asked my vet, and she said that it's hard to overfeed during the first 6 months since they grow so fast. Each of them usually gets a can in the am, and a can in the pm, and they usually finish those. I also have an automatic feeder that dispenses dry food every four hours. They just had a vet visit, and she says they're doing great.

the only kitten food we have in my area is wuvers which my kittens puke, sheba, tiki which one of my kittens didn't like chunks and fancy feast kitten so we stick with fancy feast. they like it and it doesn't upset their bellies.

my kitten just turned 8 weeks and i got him these since i don’t like wasting money on the canned foods since i don’t have toppers rn. when he’s really hungry he’ll eat the whole thing but half is perfect for him!

I recommend tiki cat kitten wet food, it is a little more on the expensive side but it’s the best in my opinion, also reveal kitten pate, it’s really soft, also weruva kitten wet food is cheaper and has a good variety of texture wet food!

Fancy feast is totally fine for kittens that tolerate a little bit of dairy! ☺️We rotate tiki baby, wellness kitten, weruva, and chewy made (similar to fancy feast). For toppers, we rotate freeze dried sprats, chicken hearts, salad shrimp, tinned sardines, dried turkey crumbles, dried duck bites, and quail eggs.

I feed my 6wk old kittens fancy feast too! Super good cause it’s high in fat and they really enjoy it :), for toppers I use freeze dried anchovies which they love and freeze dried chicken depending on what base food they’re eating! You can also use beef liver treats and shrimp! They have a lot of options, and I also use some dry food on top from time to time! You’re doing a great job 🫶🫶

I second this (animal science and care background), as long as they’re getting the calories the vet recommends for their age, size, activity level then you’re fine. If you’d like to expand their food, start small since there’s no guarantee that they’ll like new textures or flavors. Starting with changing their flavors over period of a few days is good. As they get older, you can add in toppers (one ingredient ideally) because it can help with enrichment and dental issues. Since kittens are smaller/have smaller stomachs, frequent small meals are better but again as long as they’re eating/being fed you’re fine and so are they. Changing food textures (such as pate, shreds and chunks, etc) and flavors when they’re young can help as they get older, but young is also categorized as their first roughly 2 years of life. They’ve already had enough changes with coming to you, don’t feel pressured to add in even more. Some people say you should never give dry food or seafood flavors. There are a few studies that have shown that seafood and only dry food diets can have negative effects on cats, but they are minimal in number and have yet to be tested by a large populations of vets and researchers. Again, do what’s best for your kitten and what your vet recommends. They are adorable and congrats on your new family member!
