I went back and forth on whether or not I should post this, but I kept remembering the little girl I once was. I remember looking at models on a magazine or in a runway show, thinking I had to shrink myself beyond a healthy limit to be seen as acceptable in society. I’m so happy with how far things have come and how women have been shown that being strong, having muscle and feeling powerful is acceptable and something to be proud of. but I worry about the direction things are headed now. Because I know this can often be confused for something else , I want to make it clear that this post is in no way bashing or criticizing those people who have a goal for weight loss or those who are naturally on the smaller side. I’m talking about the way media has been taking a turn towards admiring or glorifying unhealthy standards and expectations. I don’t want young girls to go through the same thing I did when I was little. I always want to show them (and you) that there is power in strength. Be cautious with what you observe online and do not give in to the pressure of having to fit into any trend. I will always be here to remind you that you are allowed to be strong, be loud & take up space🤍
