Most of the phones taken from the UK to Nigeria are phones that were originally obtained on contract in the UK. Some people take the phones to Nigeria and then report them to the phone company as stolen. If the phone is insured, the insurance company may replace it and blacklist the original phone as stolen.

Same thing happened to me, I bought a brand new iPhone 14 Pro from Jayplug gadget. Had issues with it and took it to iPhone carlcare Nairobi, unfortunately the imei of the phone doesn’t correlate with the body parts.till date It still annoys me, I reached out to their customer, very terrible and rude service. I don’t advise anyone to patronize them. @jayplug.ng

All the phones dey sell to you guys as locked are either stolen or the person who use the phone abroad didn’t finish paying for the phone…. That’s why most service providers lock it …. The phone can only work with their sim…… It will only be unlocked if you make full payment of that phone….
