I agree. I’ve saying this for years. We should think of education generally, not only at the universities, but all education as a process. I used to say to my students that learning shouldn’t stop at the end of the semester or with being handed a diploma, but learning should become just what we do. We learn, and question what we’ve learned, and go on to learn more. We should learn and question with the regularity of breathing. To stop that process and turn it into a product (and worse, a commodity) is like stopping a creature from breathing.
