@a1ejandrita: 1. It absolutely is a privilege to be in this industry and it is incredibly hard to get into but that’s never an excuse for mistreatment. It may take a little longer but find where you’re valued not just tolerated. 2. You don’t have to be a jack of all trades. Don’t worry about mastering every style but definitely learn from their methods. 3. Clients and artists are all just people. Some you click with instantly, some you don’t. Try not to take it personally. After 100 tattoos you won’t remember them anyway. 4. Even if you see other artists slacking or lowering their standards, never lower yours. Only allow maintenance or a level up and you’ll be golden even when bookings are slow. 5. I wish I didn’t get so intimidated by other styles vs my own or even compare them in the first place.
